Job Description

Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant
Location: 31 Area Branch Medical Clinic , Camp Pendleton, CA
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Excluding Federal Holidays)
Shifts: 8.5, 9, or 10.5-hour shifts between 0600 to 1800

Description:
Join our team as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) in our Family Medicine Clinic, serving our community with compassion and expertise. We offer shifts between 8.5 to 10.5 hours on weekdays, allowing for work-life balance and a maximum of 80 hours per 2-week period. Your dedication ensures our patients receive top-notch care while maintaining your well-being.

Core Duties:

    Prepare examination rooms prior to patient's arrival.
  • Assist with patient check-ins, admissions, discharges, and transfers as directed.
  • Check patient's vital signs, including temperature, respiration, pulse, weight, blood pressure, and pulse oximeter reading.
  • Obtain and document patient's current medical history, drug history, chief complaints, allergies, and vital signs on the correct form. Perform diagnostic procedures when ordered.
  • Maintain examination room stock levels and perform routine maintenance of examination rooms.
  • Complete lab and x-ray requisitions following Clinic policies.
  • Enter demographic data into the computer upon patient check-in; enter diagnosis and departure time when the patient is released.

Requirements:

  • Degree: Certificate
  • Education: Graduate from a CAAHEP or ABHES accredited medical assistant training program, or equivalent formal training in the US Armed Forces
  • Certification: Current certification as a Medical Assistant by AAMA or AMT, or equivalent formal program
  • Experience:
    • Certified Medical Assistant: One year post-graduation experience
    • NHCP and Associated Branch Clinics: Six months post-graduation experience
  • Alternative Education: Graduation from ACCSC, ACICS, ACCET, or ACCJC accredited programs
  • Alternative Certification: Certified by NHA or other formal certifying program
