SUMMARY:

Provide a vital link between Supply Chain, Sales & Marketing, and Divisional Operations activities to maximize favorable impact on RONA. The primary function of the Demand Manager is the forecasting of future sales and management of the sales, inventory and operations planning process. They will need to perform necessary analyses to provide valuable information, regarding the accuracy of and opportunities in the forecast.

SCOPE/SUPERVISION AND INTERACTION:

The Demand Manager will be critical in evaluating, recommending, and implementing new solutions by evaluating current tools and processes. These evaluations would then be integrated into recommendations for tools, processes and skillsets required to meet the business needs.
Work with sales and marketing, business unit managers, production planners, and other appropriate resources to strategically forecast customer demand and coordinate the flow of materials and information from customers to delivery.

Responsible for implementing and managing company programs and policies in a specialized and/or centralized staff function such as administering division sales, inventory, operations, and planning process. Serves as a subject matter expert and consultant to management on company programs of significant scope and responsibility. May provide leadership and coordination for cross-functional teams and/or initiatives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Matrix responsibilities for Production Planning's manufacturing resource-planning activities. These activities are needed to help achieve division sales and ACIP objectives and maintain 100% on-time customer deliveries.

Applies advanced, specialized knowledge in areas of unique expertise to develop and manage company programs and perform complex assignments and analyses.

Utilize corporate-developed tracking systems such as PFEP (plan for every part), and S& OP (sales and operations)- Accountable for materials metrics and Standards of Performance.

Designs, develops and implements systems and procedures to meet future business needs or regulatory requirements and coordinates implementation efforts within and across teams.

Ensure all the location(s) material management policies are consistent with the inventory control objectives of the Corporation.

Shares specialized knowledge with others; may provide formal training and communication in focused areas of expertise. Work assignments include cross-functional or project team responsibilities requiring a general understanding of program impact to operational and administrative functions.

Effectively create and sustain procurement to deliver material and system cost reduction programs.

Provide professional development for all materials team members. Explain and support company policies and procedures.

Benchmark world class demand planning and forecasting systems and implement best practices as appropriate.

Actively support and implement lean principles at the division.

Facilitate Kanban, materials requirement planning technique, throughout division.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

B.A./B.S. degree in a related technical or business discipline, professional level experience of six or more years and demonstrated ability to perform the described role and responsibilities and obtain the desired results. Certification or a professional designation in a specialty area (e.g. APICS) may be required or preferred depending on position requirements.

Proven competency in a team leader role for two or more years, and/or demonstrated leadership of major projects or programs in a team environment.

Thorough knowledge of time series forecasting, PFEP, and Demand planning, information systems, and/or specialty areas, and general business practices.

Demonstrated teamwork and team building skills in producing results and meeting organizational objectives. Capable of assessing and developing individual and team skills and capabilities. Able to create and maintain enthusiasm for new and challenging goals. Serve as a role model by promoting new ideas and positive change.

Please note that the salary range information is only applicable to California. Compensation is based on a variety of factors, candidate experience, qualifications, location as well as market and business considerations. Pay Range: $98,429 - $164,140
