Job Description

Dewberry is currently seeking a Construction Manager/Resident Engineer to join our Transportation Group in Long Beach, CA. The CM will provide regional leadership to develop the Firm's construction management efforts for a variety of complex Transportation projects out of our Long Beach office. The ideal candidate will have experience in the Southern California Transportation market. The primary functions of the role will be construction management and development of new business in Southern California, however the CM may also contribute with supporting ongoing transportation projects in Northern California (Rancho Cordova).

Responsibilities
    Manage and lead day-to-day Southern California CM staff and service delivery
  • Actively pursue CM project opportunities
  • Recruit, supervise, train, mentor and retain employees for the Southern California Construction Management Group
  • Pursue marketing and business development activities
  • Report to and strategize with the CA Construction Manager to identify project opportunities and establish strategic teaming relationships
  • Identify and analyze potential pursuits/ventures to ensure alignment with company strategies
  • Work with CA Construction Manager to set target capture rate
  • Actively manage projects with ongoing client interaction
  • Staff CM projects with qualified personnel
  • Serve as a Resident Engineer and/or Structure Representative on a variety of heavy civil, roadway and bridge projects

Required Skills & Required Experience
  • Minimum 15 years of progressive and technical experience in the SoCal transportation market.
  • BSCE or BSCM
  • Registered Professional Engineer in the State of California
  • Current experience as a Resident Engineer and/or Structures Representative on public agency transportation projects
  • Deep knowledge of the Southern California transportation CM market
  • Demonstrated history of established working relationships and successful project delivery in all phases from procurements, management and closeout

Must have a valid driver's license, good driving record and ability to pass a driving record background check.

The projected range for this position is $137,550 - $165,060 annually. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly.
