New York Life's primary distribution channel is thecareer Agency sales force of more than 12,000agents, operating in virtually every major city in theUnited States. Every agent is affiliated with one ofour 115 General Offices. These offices are operatedby Agency management teams responsible for agentand management recruiting, development, andsales. Approximately half our agents operate theirbusinesses out of our General Offices, while theother half maintains independent office locations.


Our General Offices are divided up among fourZones. In addition to our Zone offices, an AgencyHome Office team responsible for strategy, finance,administration, standards, training, marketing andcommunications supports our agents and fieldmanagers. The Agency operation also comprises teams charged with growing our business in keymarket segments, including the middle-incomemarket, the advanced (high-net-worth) market,select cultural markets, and the women's markets. Agents sell individual life insurance, individual
annuities, and long-term care insurance products, aswell as mutual funds.


Responsibilities

  • Fielding of inbound calls from agents regarding Long-Term Care and Individual Disability products and identify selling opportunities.
  • Make proactive sales calls on a daily basis withexisting representatives to strengthen relationshipsand find selling opportunities.
  • Work closely with the Long-Term Care and Individual Disability Consultants to developand execute an appropriate business plan tomaximize territorial sales.
  • Become a specialist in New York Life insuranceproducts.
  • Identify and convert dormant responsibilities intoproducing representatives.
  • Utilize New York Life databases to create andmaintain representative profile levels and data oncurrent and proposed sales activity.
  • Assist in training of new associates.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent workexperience.
  • Prior insurance or investment sales experience aplus.
  • Must have the ability to work independently andin a team environment.
  • Possess excellent oral and written communicationskills and interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Bilingual: Spanish or Mandarinspeaking is a plus.
  • Must have strong relationship building skills.
  • Must be a detail-oriented, well organized andself-starter with high energy and creativity.
  • Must be able to obtain 6 & 63 licenses within 60 days.
  • Proven ability to pay attention to detail andmultitask.

Salary range:$65,000 - $70,000 (Plus target sales incentive $35,000+)

Overtime eligible:Exempt

Discretionary bonus eligible:Yes

Sales bonus eligible:Yes(Target Sales Incentive $35,000)

Note: Discretionary bonuses and sales bonuses are not guaranteed, can vary, are governed by applicable plans, and may be pro-rated during the first year of employment.
