Description

SUMMARY:

Personal Lines Assistant Account Manager is responsible for assisting other members of the department with meeting the service needs of customers and performing essential functions which include processing policies and changes, invoicing, completing forms and mailing to the customer, and assuring that correct information is input into the automation system to achieve the quality and service standards developed by the agency.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide prompt, courteous, knowledgeable service to customers and prospects
  • Process new policies, renewals, endorsements, binders, evidence of property insurance, auto ID cards, and invoice all transactions per instructions from the Account Manager; process change confirmations
  • Process confirmed cancellations
  • Generate new business for the agency - take responsibility and ownership for making our business grow and improving/building the relationships with our existing and future customers
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all available products to enhance sales ability
  • Refer current and prospective clients to Employee Benefits and Commercial Insurance Departments for solicitation of those lines of business, if applicable
  • Support the department with computer and word processing skills, including the uploading of policies and changes
  • Maintain client files on computer systems
  • Perform all actions relating to customers and companies in a manner that will avoid issues involving potential errors and omissions
  • Participate in seminars and other training to maintain required licenses and for knowledge and skill development

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Self-Starter and organized, with strong attention to detail
  • Should have knowledge of, or the ability to develop a thorough understanding of personal insurance underwriting and coverages
  • Ability to understand written and oral communications and interpret abstract information
  • Intermediate PC skills, with a focus on the Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.) and effectively utilize the Agency Management systems
  • Ability to work within a fast-paced, changing priority environment
  • Self-motivated, with the initiative to prioritize and be self-directed
  • Regular and punctual attendance is required
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally, and in writing
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both colleagues, and managers, across all levels
  • Ability to promote, and maintain a team environment, willing to find accommodating solutions for our customers, companies, and the Agency
  • Ability to successfully adhere to company policies and procedures, as well as maintain strict confidentiality

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Possession of, or the ability to obtain within 6 months, all licenses as required by the State Department of Insurance preferred

WORKING CONDITIONS AND REASONABLE ACCOMMODATIONS:

  • Fast-paced, multi-tasking, office environment with periodic high disruption and changing priorities
  • Ability to perform approximately 80% sedentary work, exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and negligible force frequently
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally
  • Requires operation of a computer workstation, including keyboard and video display
  • All requirements may be modified to reasonably accommodate physical or mental impairment
