Project Manager (Los Angeles, CA)

Determine and obtain resources needed for each project, including people, tools, equipment, materials, preconstruction services, and internal services. Direct and supervise activities related to contract administration, change orders, submittals, procurement, project financial projections, and schedule requirements to ensure projects are completed to quality, profit, Safety/Zero Harm, and sustainability standards. Manage construction schedule and project budget development and implementation. Prepare bid packages and subcontract scopes of work, including managing subcontractor/supplier paperwork. Ensure compliance with owner contractor requirements. Assist in defining responsibilities for processing submittals including taking ownership of more difficult trades in cases of limited staff. Ensure project site and company assets are secure and implement safety, EEO, risk management, training, and quality control programs. Manage project closeout processes. Build relationships with customers, design teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and user groups, and actively participates in industry, client, and community relations events. Assist in the development of interns/co-ops. Carry out contract administration, change orders, submittals, procurement, project financial projections, and schedule requirements to ensure projects are completed to quality, profit, Safety/Zero Harm, and sustainability standards. Assist with subcontractor/supplier paperwork and communication and monitor subcontractor/supplier compliance with performance standards and schedules. Establish procedures for controlling contract drawings. Initiate set-up of job management system. Facilitate with scope of work and bid package development. Participate in constructability reviews. Assist in the development of site utilization plans. Assist with loss prevention and quality control programs. Function as Interface management with airport terminals; coordinate management of traffic (MOT) with airport landside operations, test and integrate systems, and coordinate secure access planning with airport police.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related field, and three years of construction project engineer or estimator experience.
  • Experience with building codes and building material compatibility, value engineer processes, and residential and commercial construction project coordination.
  • Experience developing project and value cost reports; budget forecasting; subcontractor award and procurement; and estimate preparation for planning, organizing, and scheduling in the construction industry.
  • Experience building effective relationships with customers, design team, subcontractors, suppliers, and related user groups.
  • Experience executing construction project administration and daily operations.
  • Experience preparing and maintaining project schedules, milestone dates, and close-out checklists.
  • Proficiency with contract requirements including bonds, fees, notifications, schedules, reporting, and costs.
