As a critical contributor on the Anaheim Production team, perform testing, advanced troubleshooting, and repair for Econolite's traffic controller and other electronics product lines. Actively support production lines as well as the product warranty/repair function by testing and troubleshooting PCB assemblies down to the component level and performing repair while meeting the highest quality standards.

DUTIES

  • Execute defined test procedures and perform exploratory testing and troubleshooting.
  • Evaluate product schematics and determine best troubleshooting techniques.
  • Troubleshoot and repair microprocessor-based assemblies to the component level.
  • Perform surface mount device rework, including BGAs.
  • Perform troubleshooting and repair to support multiple production lines and warranty/repair.
  • Document details of product/component failures, analyze failure trends, and report trends and other findings to Hardware Engineers and other stakeholders.
  • Assist Hardware/Test Engineers with developing and refining test procedures and building test fixtures.
  • When necessary, assist with software installation, bench tests, and environmental tests for traffic controllers and other electronics products.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 2 years on-the-job experience.
  • Associate degree or higher in Electronics Engineering or Electronics Technology.
  • Demonstrated experience in production/manufacturing test procedures and advanced electronics troubleshooting and repair.
  • Strong background in troubleshooting and fixing surface mount devices
  • Proven proficiency in electronics test and repair equipment, including oscilloscopes, meters, soldering/desoldering tools, etc.
  • Ability to evaluate PCBA schematics and layouts and determine best troubleshooting techniques.
  • Attention to detail, quick problem-solving ability, and ability to develop solutions and workarounds for unanticipated technical problems.
  • Proficiency in the documentation of testing instructions and component failure details
  • Ability to work in a team environment and communicate well with peers, engineers, and supervisors.

PRE-EMPLOYMENT

COMPENSATION

The base pay range for this full-time non-exempt position is $22.00 - $24.00 per hour plus benefits. Pay ranges are determined by various factors, including role, experience, and location. The pay range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire base pay rates for this position. Within the range, actual individual compensation is determined by various factors, including location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
